DMCA and takedowns

Last updated August 2026

If something published here infringes your copyright, tell us and it comes down. This page is the formal route. The informal one, which is faster and works just as well, is to email [email protected] with the URL.

What to send

  • The exact URL on this domain where the material appears.
  • A description of the work you say it infringes, and where the original can be seen.
  • Your name, address, phone number and email.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Where to send it

[email protected], with DMCA in the subject line. A postal address for the designated agent is published alongside this page for notices that must be served on paper.

What happens next

Material that is the subject of a complete notice is removed or disabled while we look at it, not after. We will tell you what we did. If the material came from a site we list rather than from us, we will also pass the notice on to them, but we will still remove our copy.

Counter notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send a counter notice to the same address with the URL, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court. We will forward it to the complainant and may restore the material after the statutory waiting period.

Repeat infringers

A site that repeatedly appears in valid notices is taken off the list. That is a commercial decision as much as a legal one: it is not worth linking to.
